Introduction by Teri Ratz

Life in 17th century New England was centered on God and the family. Religious beliefs were rigid and strictly enforced. Diseases were unforgiving and lack of modern medicine made them deadly. As they came from the Old World, colonists worked to establish a new way of life and encountered many new experiences along the way, setting the stage for the development of the Nation as we know it today.
